Interloan ("we", "our", "the organisation") is committed to protecting the privacy of people who use its services, whether donation beneficiaries, credit applicants, donors, or visitors to its website. Interloan is a nonprofit corporation registered in the United States, recognised by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, public charity category. This policy applies to all of Interloan's activities, including internationally.
Depending on the nature of your interaction with Interloan, the following data may be collected:

— Financial data: bank details, transaction history with Interloan, information relating to the applicant's financial situation.

— Data submitted directly: content of aid request forms, correspondence with our team.

— Assess and process requests for aid, donations or credit;
— Carry out the identity verification required by anti-money laundering (AML) obligations and compliance with international sanctions regimes (OFAC);
— Ensure administrative follow-up and reporting of aid programmes;
— Communicate with beneficiaries and donors;
— Improve our services and website;
— Fulfil our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
Interloan never sells the personal data it collects to third parties.
Data processing is based, depending on the case, on the explicit consent of the person concerned, the performance of a contractual commitment, compliance with a legal obligation, or Interloan's legitimate interest in ensuring the security and proper functioning of its services.
Data may be shared with our technical service providers (hosting, payment, identity verification), who are bound by contractual confidentiality obligations, with competent authorities when required by law, and with our local operational partners, strictly to the extent necessary for implementing an aid programme. This data is never shared for commercial or advertising purposes without explicit consent.
As Interloan operates internationally, personal data may be transferred and processed in a country other than that of the person concerned, including the United States. Appropriate measures are taken to ensure an adequate level of protection during these transfers, in accordance with applicable law.
